Weave LA / Microbeaded
Weave Plaited / Cornrow
A “weave” involves the stylist braiding a client’s natural hair into cornrow tracks, which run along their scalp. The hair extension weft is then sewn onto the cornrow track. This technique involves no chemicals, can be done within a couple of hours and is very popular with clients of all hair types.
Fresh Salon offers a half head weave, for clients with natural hair to shoulders or longer, that are looking to add length and/or thickness to their own hair. The weave integrates seamlessly into their own hair, creating a beautiful longer and fuller appearance.
Fresh Salon also offers a full head weave, this is for the client who likes to experiment with length and colour but doesn’t want to colour or cut their natural hair, or for those clients with very short natural hair. The full head sewn in is known as a protective styling method to help hair grow and reduce the amount of heat styling, colouring or cutting done to the natural hair. All of the natural hair is braided into cornrows and wefts are sewn onto the braid to give the illusion that it is the client’s own hair. A closure or “fake parting” is used on top of the client’s head to make this style extremely realistic. A weave is not for the client that is easily “head sore” as it can feel uncomfortable for a couple of days until you get used to it. This hair extension technique lasts between 6 – 10 weeks, depending on how fast the client’s natural hair grows and how well it is looked after, before removal of the hair extension and a reapplication is applied. Hair can be tied up with this application technique.
Fresh recommends using a high quality hair extension weft when having a weave applied, such as Remy hair in our “Quality Strands” brand or other high quality brand suggested by our stylist, as this source of hair has cuticles that are all facing in the same direction resulting in less tangling, is easier to manage and has a longer life-span than a cheaper hair alternative.
We would recommend that if a weave is of interest, the “How To” section of this website should also be read to learn more about what to expect and how to care for a weave.
Our stylists welcome all potential clients into the salon for a complimentary consultation to discuss your hair extension requirements.
